Wilmer Flores, Mets Shortstop, Cries When He Learns Of Pending Trade

New York Mets shortstop Wilmer Flores was visibly upset when he learned of his pending trade while he was playing in a game against the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old, who had been with the Mets since he was 16, was informed he would be going to the Milwaukee Brewers as part of swap for outfielder Carlos Gomez.

Despite this news, Flores remained on the field. Cue the "there's no crying in baseball" jokes.

As it turns out, the tears were all for nothing. Mets general manager Sandy Alderson emphatically denied the trade rumours and insisted that nothing involving Gomez would transpire.

Just another typical day at the ballpark.
