Ontario Hit With Intense Rain And Hail Storms On Sunday #OnStorm

Severe wet weather put a damper on long weekend plans Sunday afternoon, as parts of Southern Ontario were hit with heavy rainfall and even hail.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding cities. The agency warned "strong wind gusts up to 90 km/h along with local quarter size hail and heavy rain" could be in store. A tornado warning issued earlier in the day for areas such as Kincardine, Bruce County and Blyth, ended mid-afternoon.

Toronto Pearson Airport warned of possible delays:

The nasty weather also led to power outages for nearly 50,000 customers as it rolled through the region, according to CBC News.

The storm hit Barrie earlier this afternoon.
