After 13 years of marriage, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are divorcing, People magazine reported on Monday. The couple has three children together and is reportedly putting them first during their split.
"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment," the pair said in a statement. "To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time."
The couple's three kids are: Kingston, 9, Zuma, who is almost 7, and Apollo, 17 months.
A source has confirmed that Stefani and Rossdale are putting their kids first. "Their priority is making sure they maintain a safe and secure home for their children regardless of what's happening," a source close to Stefani reportedly told People magazine. "When you're separated and have kids, you're much more emotionally invested."
Just a week ago, Stefani posted a lovely photo of her and Apollo on Instagram during a vacation in Montana.
Fans have started commenting on the photo with their concern and words of encouragement. Valvallovesnd wrote: "Nooooo! I'm so devastated to hear this news! As difficult as this may be, know lots of people love you and support you! I'm so sorry you're going thru this, you're in my prayers!"
