Dead body found on highway ruled a homicide

The investigation of a man's body found in a ditch off Highway 7 in York Region is now considered to be connected to a homicide, according to police. 

Just after 12 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a call about a body spotted near the busy road. Police say there was trauma to the body. 

In a previous news release, police say the body had been there for "some time."

Police expect to release the identity of the body after a postmortem investigation today.
