Would you spend your wedding day helping those in need? Fethullah Üzümcüoğlu and Esra Polat would and that's just what they did.

The two Turkish newlyweds spent their wedding day, and wedding money, feeding over 4,000 Syrian refugees. The couple got married in the Turkish province of Kilis. The region is located near the Syrian border, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The idea came from the groom’s father, Ali Üzümcüoğlu, according to a report from the Toronto Star who told his son that hosting a banquet for themselves was "unnecessary" when the people "next door" were in need of help.
