OTTAWA — The NDP says Tom Mulcair will take part in a bilingual election debate sponsored by the Munk Debates in Toronto.

The bilingual debate on foreign affairs and Canada's role in the world is scheduled for Sept. 28.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau have already agreed to participate.

Green party Leader Elizabeth May was not invited.

Mulcair has been selective about debates, saying he will only take part in those which include Harper.

He also wants an equal number of debates in English and French.
