The CW Is Turning 'The Notebook' Into A TV Show

It wasn't over ... it still isn't over.

Noah and Allie are back together again, but this time we'll be watching their love story on the small screen.

Television network The CW announced on Tuesday that it would be creating a TV series based on the Nicholas Sparks novel-turned-hit film, The Notebook.

But there's no need to reach for the tissues just yet. Entertainment Weekly reports that the series will be based on the youthful relationship between Noah and Allie set during the late 1940s in North Carolina.

During a press tour, CW President Mark Pedowitz told reporters that the show was in the early stages of development and at the moment he does not believe audiences will be seeing the older versions of the main characters.

The 2004 film is considered one of the most romantic films of all time and made Canadian actors Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams household names, so it's no surprise that it's making fans of the flick a little nervous.

No matter who is cast, we know we're excited to tune in when the series launches, so we'll be paying close attention to see if any Canadian broadcasters add the show to their lineups. But if not, The CW is also available in Canada through select cable, satellite and IPTV providers.

Do you think the remake will be successful? Let us know in the comments below.
