WATCH: Smokers See How Smoking Will Affect Their Skin

It's basically the opposite of a makeover.

In the video above by Buzzfeed, a makeup artist shows three people what smoking will do to their skin in 30 years time — and the results aren't pretty.

As the makeup artist works her magic, the smokers (Michael, 28, Edd, 25 and Meredith, 24) share the stories of when they started smoking. For Edd, it was a result of curiosity. For Meredith, a post-bar bad habit. And Michael doesn't say, but he does admit he started when he was only 15.

The trio all expected different results from the experience. "I hope to get scared out of smoking cigarettes anymore and finally be able to fully quit," Edd said as he awaited the final result. Meredith also anticipated a rude awakening, while Michael remained doubtful that the new look would stop him from smoking in the long run.

According to the Canadian Cancer Society, there are more than 4.8 million smokers in Canada. And smoking affects a lot more than your skin.
