Parenting win?

There are few rewards in the thankless job of parenthood as sweet as embarrassing your kids. Emily Musson learned that after taking some selfies with her boyfriend, which her parents shamelessly recreated.

The marketing student at LIM College in New York posted cutesy couple photos with boyfriend Johnny Zotos on social media.

Her mom Nancy Musson, seized the opportunity to make her daughter cringe. With Emily's dad, Nancy recreated the selfies, down to the carefully posed pouting, tongues sticking out and photo filters.

Musson posted her parents’ antics on Twitter, along with the tweet “my parents are on drugs.” It’s since hit over 50,000 retweets and more than 66,000 favourites.

Nancy Musson is thrilled at her newfound internet stardom, already making callouts at her kids:

Her daughter still doesn’t know what the big deal is.

“Like yeah it’s funny, but it’s more interesting if you actually know my parents,” Emily told Cosmopolitan.

She told Buzzfeed: “My dad is sort of conservative so it’s interesting she got him to participate.”

Her boyfriend gets it though. “We’re basically famous now,” he tweeted at his girlfriend. Zotos, a bassist in the band This Is All Now, playfully demanded a guest spot on Ellen Degenres.

Her parents haven’t met Zotos yet, who Emily has been seeing for two weeks.

This ranks pretty high in ways parents can embarrass their kids, right up there with dad dancing and embarrassing childhood stories. But it could be worse: her boyfriend’s parents could’ve taken selfies too.
