UPDATE - 5:36 p.m.: The emergency alert has been extended to B.C., Saskatchewan, and Montana.
There has been an Alberta emergency alert issued for the alleged abduction of a toddler early Monday morning.
RCMP say two-year-old Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette was taken from Blairmore, Alberta, West of Lethbridge and Southwest of Calgary around 3:30 a.m. MT.
The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model white van with a large rear antenna, with a flag attached.
Hailey's father, 27-year-old Terry Blanchette, was found dead at the house that same morning. Officials are treating his death as a homicide, RCMP said in a news conference Monday afternoon.
The missing toddler is described as Caucasian, with light brown, straight hair and bangs. She has brown eyes and weighs 18 kilograms (40 pounds.)
The RCMP has asked the public to not approach the suspect vehicle if they see it, and to call 911 or the Crowsnest Pass RCMP at (403) 562-2866 if they have any information.
