VULCAN, Alta. — RCMP say their investigation has shown that one of the two people who died in a house fire in Vulcan, Alta., was the one who deliberately set the blaze.

After an autopsy Wednesday, the victims of the fire have been identified as Robert Farrow, 47, and Karen Currie, 56, both of Vulcan.

RCMP say the motive behind the arson is not clear.

However, court records show that Farrow had spent time in jail last year after pleading guilty to the assault and unlawful confinement of Currie.

The fire happened in the early morning hours of Sept. 28.
