Toronto sports fans have waited a long time for the good days to come back.
With the Jays in the playoffs and new people in charge of the Leafs, they may finally be here.
There's a lot of hope for Hogtown's Major League Baseball team. But a video released Tuesday has given us hope that the Leafs, too, can succeed again.
The emotional video was produced by Tim Thompson, who used to do montages for "Hockey Night in Canada."
It shows highlights from the Leafs' history, such as their multiple Stanley Cup wins, as well as great former players like Doug Gilmour, Darryl Sittler and Mats Sundin.
The moments are set to a song titled "Peace and Quiet" by singer Ron Hawkins.
While the Jays are currently celebrating making the playoffs for the first time in 22 years, for the Leafs, it feels like it's taken longer for them to find success again.
People often remark that the Leafs haven't won a cup since 1967 ... despite the fact that they have made the playoffs many times since.
But there truly is reason to hope for them. They have a new coach in Stanley Cup and gold medal winner Mike Babcock. They have a new general manager in multiple cup winner Lou Lamoriello.
The Leafs could have a long, tough road ahead before they're a contender. But the team certainly has pieces in place to help them succeed.
Go Leafs go!
