Blue Jays fans were angry after an umpire's call led to the Texas Rangers taking a 3-2 lead in Game 5 on Wednesday.
But some overreacted and started throwing beers on the field.
Toronto police have arrested a man after a baby was hit by the spray of a thrown beer can at the game.
Police say the baby was with her mother in the front row of the Rogers Centre when the can was tossed their way. Television cameras captured a teary woman holding her baby shortly after the incident.
Const. David Hopkinson says the baby wasn't hit by the can and is OK. He says charges are expected against the man but none had been laid as of late Wednesday night.
Fans were tossing beer cans and other debris onto the field after a controversial call in the seventh inning that gave the Texas Rangers a short-lived lead. The Jays eventually won 6-3 to win their American League Division Series.
Here's how it went down.
The play that had fans upset occurred when Jays catcher Russell Martin tried to throw the ball to the pitcher in the 7th inning.
But instead of going where it was supposed to, it bounced off the bat of Rangers hitter Shin-Soo Choo.
The Rangers scored a run after the umpire had declared play dead. It counted anyway.
