Netflix Canada Halloween 2015 Picks Offer A Candy Bowl Of Scary Movies

There's enough to make you want to sleep with the light on.

But how about the really scary ones?

Netflix Canada has released a list of titles it will be streaming this Halloween. And there's enough in here to make you want to sleep with the light on.

"Monkey Thieves: Seasons 1 to 3"

Netflix Canada Halloween 2015 Picks

Movies

"Carrie"

Brian De Palma's adaptation of the Stephen King novel tells the story of Carrie White (Sissy Spacek), a high school outcast pushed one step too far by bullies and an abusive mother (Piper Laurie). Slowly, she unveils telekinetic powers that reach their full force at the school prom.

"The Conjuring"

One of the scariest movies of the decade pairs Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren, paranormal investigators who fight to drive a malevolent spirit out of a family's home.

"The Omen"

Strange events surround the home of U.S. ambassador Robert Thorn (Gregory Peck) after he and his wife Katherine (Lee Remick) adopt a child following a still birth. They begin to suspect the young boy, Damien (Harvey Spencer Stephens), may be the antichrist.

"The Cabin in the Woods"

This Joss Whedon-produced horror flick is less scary than it is clever, with some fantastic satire of the horror genre. It tells the story of a group of five students who rent out a, what else, cabin in the woods. Naturally, bad things follow β€” but they don't happen quite as you expect them to.

"The Human Centipede"

It's difficult to imagine a more grotesque scenario than three people sewed together, mouth to posterior, to create a digestive system. We feel sick just thinking about it.

Television

"Hannibal"

A chilling television adaptation of characters first realized in Thomas Harris' books, only to see them gain their deserved notoriety in "Manhunter" and "The Silence of the Lambs." The show tells the story of Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), an FBI investigator whose expertise is in psychopathic killers. Little does he know he's being profiled by Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a forensic psychiatrist ... and a killer capable of horrors all his own.

"The X-Files"

This Vancouver-shot supernatural series is among the scariest ever to hit television screens. FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigate paranormal events that hint at an otherworldly presence among them.

"Bates Motel"

This A&E series is a prequel, of sorts, to the classic 1960 horror film "Psycho." It tells of Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore), a shy young man living with his possessive mother Norma (Vera Farmiga).
