REGINA — Premier Brad Wall says he talked about pipelines, agriculture and trade deals in a meeting with the lone Liberal MP from Saskatchewan, Ralph Goodale.

The premier says it was a good meeting and he's hopeful that Goodale will get a senior role in prime minister-designate Justin Trudeau's new government.

Wall says Goodale has been a strong advocate for Saskatchewan in the past and he expects that to continue.

The premier also says, through Goodale, he extended an invitation for Trudeau to visit Saskatchewan when it fits Trudeau's schedule.

Goodale is considered a likely a shoo-in for a senior role in the new government as a veteran of cabinets under three previous prime ministers, including Trudeau's late father, Pierre.

The new federal cabinet will be sworn in Nov. 4.
