Sex Offenders Don't Have To Post 'No Trick-Or-Treating' Sign, Rules Judge

According to the judge, the sign infringes on sex offenders' constitutional rights.

A California judge has ruled that sex offenders will not have to put up a sign on Halloween that reads: “We do not participate in trick or treating."

Since March, U.S. attorney Janice Bellucci and registered sex offender Frank Lindsay have been in a legal battle with a number of California cities. They have been trying to get cities to reverse restricting bans and regulations, such as the sign, that they believe infringe upon a sex offender’s constitutional rights.

Watch the video above to hear why the court sided with sex offenders, how parents reacted to the decision and how the California’s Sex Offender Program will be protecting kids this Halloween.
