Quilted baby jackets sold through Loblaws and other retail outlets across the country have been recalled because of a possible choking hazard.

Loblaw Companies Ltd. said Saturday it is recalling all striped, Joe Fresh-branded jackets that bear the style code BBF5OT4316. The company said young children may be able to pull the buttons off.

"One instance of a child removing a button and putting it in their mouth has come to our attention," the company said in a statement, adding that there were no injuries in that case.

The jackets, which have been pulled from shelves,  were sold in the following regions and stores from Sept. 1:

- In Ontario: at Joe Fresh, Real Canadian Superstore, Fortinos, Loblaws, No Frills, Your Independent Grocer, Zehrs and JoeFresh.com.

- In Atlantic Canada: at Atlantic Superstore, Dominion, Joe Fresh and JoeFresh.com.

- In Quebec: at Joe Fresh, Maxi & Cie, Loblaws, Provigo and JoeFresh.com.

- In Western Canada: at Joe Fresh, Real Canadian Superstore, Real Canadian Wholesale Club, No Frills, Your Independent Grocer and JoeFresh.com.

Customers can return the product to any store where Joe Fresh clothing is sold for a full refund.
