WHITEHORSE — A Yukon woman who spent the weekend lost in the bush east of Whitehorse is being treated in hospital for exposure.

A search began for 32-year-old Ross River resident Rose Caesar on Friday after she did not return from an all-terrain vehicle trip.

She was last seen heading south toward Watson Lake.

Her ATV was found abandoned late Saturday night as temperatures dipped well below freezing.

Concern grew because Caesar was not dressed for the conditions and requires medication for a medical condition.

Teams from the RCMP, Yukon Search and Rescue, the conservation office and the community found Caeser at around 9 a.m. Sunday, about 1.5 kilometres from her ATV, and took her to hospital. (CKRW)
