Judicial Recount Confirms NDP Win By 82 Votes For Northern Sask. Riding

A judicial recount has confirmed that Georgina Jolibois, the NDP candidate for the northern Saskatchewan riding of Desnethé–Missinippi–Churchill River was elected with a slim margin of 82 votes. 

The Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Marc Mayrand made the announcement today. The recount took place on Nov. 3 by Justice N.G. Gabrielson of the Saskatchewan Court of Queen's Bench.

The initial election results had Jolibois defeating Liberal candidate Lawrence Joseph by only 71 votes. 

These are the final results for all of the candidates in the riding.

- Rob Clarke Conservative Party of Canada 9,105

- Georgina Jolibois New Democratic Party 10,319

- Lawrence Joseph Liberal Party of Canada 10,237

- Warren Koch Green Party of Canada 552

Elections Canada said in a release that the returning officer for the riding will "complete the writ of election and forward it to the Chief Electoral Officer, who will sign the writ and publish the name of the elected candidate in the Canada Gazette."
