The campaign against Starbucks' red cups just got a pretty loud ally.
Donald Trump suggested a boycott of the coffee chain during a pre-Republican presidential debate rally in Springfield, Ill. on Monday, according to the Associated Press.
Starbucks has a store in one of Trump’s buildings, he told the crowd, and that "that's the end of that lease, but who cares?"
Some Christians are angry at Starbucks because the plain red cups don't depict Christmas imagery.
"Starbucks REMOVED CHRISTMAS from their cups because they hate Jesus," evangelist Joshua Feuerstein wrote on his Facebook page.
One prominent Christian doesn't share their views. "Full House" star Candace Cameron Bure took to Instagram Monday to disagree with the outrage.
"Until Starbucks puts a baby Jesus or nativity scene on the cup while saying Merry Christmas, then pulls it because they say it’s offensive, let’s talk. I don't remember Starbucks ever being a Christian company, do you?" she wrote.
Many other Christians also don't care about the cups, Jonathan Merritt wrote in The Washington Post.
"It seems an increasing number of believers have finally learned that coercive and heavy-handed tactics like boycotts are not effective ways to influence culture," he wrote.
