Black tights have received quite the wrath as of late.
Last month, The Guardian posted an article called "When is it socially acceptable to wear black tights?" where the author, Jess Cartner-Morley, claims "a tiny part of me dies," when she wears the opaque hosiery. (She claims wearing black tights "reveals a lot about your status, age, class and self-image.")
And while wearing tights isn't exactly ideal (they're a pain to get on, and always, ALWAYS seem to rip at the worst moments), they're essential for fall/winter, especially if you want to wear skirts and dresses without freezing.
