The Best Brain Food Listed In One Handy Chart

You can still have chocolate and wine!

When it comes to eating for your brain, we all know the Mediterranean Diet is where it's at. But if fish and olive oil aren't to your liking, it might help to know there are other options out there.

In the infographic below by Blue Brain Boost, we get a closer look at some of the foods that help boost your brain's cognitive health. And they aren't all dark leafy greens and fish filled with omega-3s — according to the chart, which rounds up findings from numerous medical journals, dark chocolate and red wine aren't a bad option either.

And the reason these two seemingly unhealthy foods make the list, might actually be due to a common ingredient. According to the Harvard Health Blog, both dark chocolate and red wine contain flavanols which can improve attention, function and memory as well as reduce blood pressure and improve insulin resistance.
