RED DEER, Alta. — A central Alberta man suspected of stealing a truck with two little sisters sleeping inside faces more than half a dozen charges.

A warrant had been issued after the truck with the one- and three-year-old girls was stolen from outside a home in Red Deer last Thursday.

Police say the children were in the back seat of the truck, which had been left running while the driver was inside a home.

The children were found frightened, but unharmed, less than half an hour later on a street corner about four kilometres away.

The truck was discovered in a Red Deer parking lot the next morning, and the alleged thief was arrested on Tuesday while dozing in another person's vehicle.

Logan Myles Gregory, who is 28, faces seven charges which include theft and child abandonment.

He was to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Wednesday.
