Calgary homicide detectives are looking into the recent death of an 18-month-old girl after she was found in distress at a day home.
Police say emergency crews were called to the southwest residence last Thursday.
Ceira Lynn McGrath was in critical life-threatening condition before she died in hospital.
The medical examiner says it could take up to six months to determine the cause of death.
Police say it's protocol for their homicide unit to be involved in a case such as this one.
In a Facebook post, Ceira's family says the death was preventable.
