Ancient Fit Is Olympian Simon Whitfield's Choice For Distraction-Free Exercise

'My belief is that we have the innate ability to calibrate our health and fitness."

Ancient fitness is a growing trend in which people take on training regiments their ancestors would have done — but some are taking the training back even further, with rocks, logs and basically whatever is lying around on the ground.

But there is a method to the madness. It's the act of mindfulness and listening to your body to achieve maximum potential, according to former Canadian Olympian Simon Whitfield.

"Ancient fit is simply reframing how we achieve our fitness goals," says Whitfield. For him, the idea is to turn any daily activity into a chance to improve physical fitness levels.

"There's an opportunity to gain fitness while I'm here at this beach picking up different things moving different ways in which my ancestors would have done."

So if you've got two minutes to spare, then you've got enough time to get ancient fit.
