Macaron Hair Is A Magical, Delicious Way To Try The Rainbow Trend

The sweetest hair trend we ever did see.

We've been obsessed with macarons since the "Gossip Girl" days — you know the scene we're talking about: a heartbroken Blair Waldorf, engulfed in a bubble bath, chopping away on those delicious little treats.

So when we found out the newest hair trend is inspired by the tasty little French treats, we were over the moon.

Out of Atelier by Square Salon in Las Vegas, hair stylist Shelly Gregory has brilliantly created "Macaron hair," a colourful pastel dream inspired by the famous Ladurée macaron and pastry shop founded in Paris.

"I went there a few years ago and I remember loving the colour palette," Gregory tells Cosmopolitan.com. "Everything from the crown molding and the way they display the macarons — it sticks with you. It's kind of like Disneyland, where it's magic. I wanted that feeling when you look at this hair."

In the process ... 🍭 hair coming soon 🍭

To get "candy unicorn" look, seven colours, including purple, pink, peach, yellow, blue, mint green and silver, are applied to the hair. "You see rainbow hair but it's too much," Gregory explains to Cosmo. "I wanted it to be a toned-down rainbow. And something yummy-looking!"

And if you want to take this trend even further, mix glitter with hair gel and brush onto your roots.

Blair Waldorf-approved.
