This week we go to Halifax to meet @EatHalifax, a chronicler of the many delicious things that the east coast city has to offer. Here she is in her own words:

Up until recently, my life revolved around food: thinking about it, cooking it, writing about it, styling it, photographing it. But since the arrival of our son in late August, life has certainly changed. While food will always plays an important role, it's currently all baby all the time. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

ALL THE FOOD! I especially love sharing photos of food here on the East Coast whether made in my own kitchen from incredible local produce or at a favourite restaurant. I think this shot is a great example. No styling. No fancy restaurant. Just an honest portrayal of lobster in Nova Scotia.

Whether taken with a fancy DSLR or phone, lighting is key to a good photo. Photos taken in the right light conditions — even artificial light — are simply sharper. Sometimes even filters can't salvage a photo and that's ok. This shot is an absolute favourite of mine. Would you believe this was taken with an iPhone under fluorescent light?

Even after jumping into the world of blogging, I was a total novice at photography. It wasn't until I surrounded myself with inspiration like my friend and food photographer extraordinaire Kelly Neil (@baconandbaileys) that I began to understand photography. I've come along way and still feel like I'm only beginning my journey. This is one of the first shots I could be proud of after finally learning something about my camera.

#tbt to that time I made beef tongue tacos. Sometimes it's easy to forget how far I've come as a cook. Be fearless.

There are simply so many! I especially love those that showcase food in a real, uncurated way; where everything isn't always perfectly styled. @brooklynsupper, @kitchykitchen, @aimeebourque to name a few. #FF #FollowFriday

These days my project is settling into motherhood and finding the balance between home and work. I still develop recipes for a weekly column in my local paper @thechronicleherald and hope to return to writing soon.
