Just over a week after the horrific attack on a concert hall in Paris, the band who was on stage that night has released some new details about the tragedy.
Eagles of Death Metal lead singer Jesse Hughes sat down with VICE to talk about the Nov. 13 massacre, when gunmen opened fire inside the Bataclan theatre, killing 89 people.
In an excerpt from the interview, which VICE said will premiere this week, Hughes recalled how several fans tried to hide in the band's dressing room.
"The killers were able to get in, and killed every one of them, except for a kid who was hiding under my leather jacket," he said.
"People were playing dead, and they were so scared," he said, adding that one reason so many died was because they wouldn't leave their friends.
"So many people put themselves in front of people."

While all of the band's members survived the attack, merchandise manager Nick Alexander was killed, along with employees of their record label, Thomas Ayad, Marie Mosser, and Manu Perez, according to EW.
A documentary about the band was recently pulled from an Amsterdam film festival over fears the timing was inappropriate.
