Justin Trudeau Asked To Prom By Kamloops, B.C. Teen

"Not only would he be gaining future voters but enlightening my peers about what being a prime minister is all about."

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau could add prom king to his titles if a teen from Kamloops, B.C. has her way.

Kashlee Taylor-Proulx is hoping that Trudeau will be her date for her school's grad, having appealed directly to the prime minister through her Facebook and Twitter accounts last Friday.

Everyone please share this so I can get the Canadian Prime Minister to be my prom date. #trudeauforprom2016

Taylor-Proulx's appeal comes weeks after she and her boyfriend broke up, leaving her without a date to the ceremony, Global News reported.

She's perfectly aware that Trudeau has a busy schedule that involves managing the country's finances and bringing in 25,000 refugees — but she hopes the federal leader can find just a little bit of time to make it to the prom.

"A lot of teenagers enjoy politics and I feel that if he did come, even if just to give a speech at the graduation ceremony, not only would he be gaining future voters but enlightening my peers about what being a prime minister is all about," she told the network.

Trudeau had not responded to Taylor-Proulx as of Sunday.

But her mother Cheryl said that she was proud her daughter asked the prime minister instead of a famous actor.

"It shows that he has made an impression with our young people," she wrote on Facebook.
