Adding a bit of sparkle to your look is a must during the holiday season. So when you're putting your party dress on, consider doing this easy glitter ombré nail art to bring your outfit to the next level!
The tricky thing about ombré glitter nails is making the glitter opaque enough at one end. Typically, this involves layers upon layers of glitter polish, and then chipping the next day.
The trick to an easy glitter ombré? Actually, there are two! First, use a shimmer or metallic polish that is similar in colour as the glitter polish underneath. Second, use a cosmetic sponge to dab the glitter on instead of painting.
To create this glitter ombré look, start off with the base colour you have chosen and apply two coats (or until you reach opacity). Let this polish dry for 10 to 15 minutes.
Next, take your metallic or shimmer polish and paint some on a cosmetic sponge. Sponge this polish onto the tips of your nails, stopping around the middle of the nail. Do two coats of this polish so that it is opaque. Allow this to dry for 5 to 10 minutes.
Finally, take the glitter polish and paint some on the sponge. Sponge the glitter over the metallic polish you previously applied. Two coats of the glitter should be plenty. After letting the glitter polish layer dry, apply two coats of topcoat to even out any texture from the glitter.
