Sandra Bullock Daughter: The Star Adopts A Second Child!

The 51-year-old actress adopted a little girl named Laila.

Sandra Bullock is a mom again! The Academy Award-winning actress confirmed to People that she adopted a daughter named Laila (pronounced Lila). The three year old is from Louisiana and was previously in foster care.

Bullock is now a mom to the little girl and her 5-year-old son Louis, whom she adopted on her own in 2010.

“When I look at Laila, there’s no doubt in my mind that she was supposed to be here,” the 51-year-old actress said. “I can tell you absolutely, the exact right children came to me at the exact right time.”

In her interview with People, Bullock revealed that it was her son Louis who inspired her to adopt a second child. “Louis spearheaded this whole journey,” she said. “My family is blended and diverse, nutty, and loving and understanding. That’s a family.”

Bullock initially sparked adoption rumours back in September when she was spotted carrying a child into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Despite this, she immediately shut down reports.

“If I had an adopted child -- if I had a second adopted child -- everyone would be hearing about it,” she said in an interview with the Associated Press. “I would be loud and clear and say, ‘Yes, I have officially adopted a second child.’ Right now, Louis must be it.”

Bullock certainly kept her word as she announced her second adoption on the cover of People. The image was taken by the actress’ boyfriend, L.A. photographer Bryan Randall.

The mom of two says she hopes her adoption story helps to “shine a light on the 415,129 children currently in foster care in the U.S.”
