'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 Teaser Gives Us Hope That Jon Snow Is Alive

The question of Jon Snow's status as living or dead is a complicated one.

The question of Jon Snow's status as living or dead is a complicated one.

And it's not made any clearer in a teaser for season six of "Game of Thrones."

SPOILER ALERT

The lord commander of the Night's Watch was offed in bloody fashion at the end of season five. But as regular watchers of the HBO show know, there are plenty of scenarios in which he could still be alive.

One of these is suggested by the teaser. A shot of Snow lying on the ground is followed immediately by one of his brother Bran warging — or entering something else's mind, as only few can do in Westeros.

Resurrection is also a theme in the show, and the books. So there's hope he can brought back from the dead.

Snow's appearance is the most interesting part of the teaser, which also provides a montage of the show's many, many deaths, beneath a narrative voice that sounds very much like Swedish actor Max von Sydow's.

Von Sydow, who has starred in films such as "The Exorcist" and "The Seventh Seal," plays the Three-Eyed Raven in the upcoming season.

"Game of Thrones" returns in April. It can't come soon enough.
