Police Seek Woman Who Pulled On Girl's Hijab, Assaulted Her Aboard SRT

Police are searching for a woman who allegedly pulled on a girl's hijab, while assaulting her and making racist comments in an attack that occurred on the Scarborough Rapid Transit (SRT) network.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of December 10 aboard an SRT train in the Scarborough Town Centre area.

The woman pulled on the girl's hijab, kicked her and began yelling profanities, aboard the train, police said. Both got off the LRT and went to a bus platform, where the woman continued to make racist comments about the girl's attire.

The suspect is described as 20-30, five feet five inches tall, with shoulder-length dark hair. She was wearing dark-framed prescription glasses, a blue bomber-style winter jacket, skinny jeans and black shoes. She was also carrying a beige purse.
