STETTLER, Alta. — RCMP are investigating after a man dressed as Santa Claus robbed a central Alberta jewelry store on Christmas Eve.

The Santa robber, who was armed with a shotgun, demanded jewelry and precious stones after browsing in the store in downtown Stettler.

Police say after the heist the man drove off in a black Hummer SUV.

No one was hurt.

RCMP later found the suspect Hummer a few days later, but no sign of Santa.

Police believe the thief may have been driven away from the scene in pickup truck with chrome running boards.
