Nail Art Ideas: Here's How To Get Jaimie Alexander's Golden Globes Dress On Your Nails

A manicure worthy of the red carpet!

Award season is here!

The red carpet serves as inspiration for fashionistas everywhere, but it is a great source for finding nail art inspiration as well.

On Sunday night, the Golden Globes honoured the best of film and TV, and there were gowns of a variety of colours and textures on the red carpet. However, there was one gown that really stood out for me, because of its metallic pattern.

The beautiful Jaimie Alexander of "Blindspot" wore a stunning gown with a sexy plunging neckline by Italian label, Genny.

The dress featured a black and metallic green geometric pattern that served as perfect nail art inspiration. Here's the design I came up with:

To create this design, first apply two coats of OPI My Gondola Or Yours? and wait for it to completely dry. Next, take a metallic green or teal polish (Chanel Azuré was used for this design), and replicate the geometric design from the dress.

There were a lot of circular shapes within the pattern, so curved lines represent that. There were also circles made up of thinner lines, which served as inspiration for the pinky finger and middle finger designs. Near the top of the dress there were thicker curved lines, which are represented on the ring finger. Finally, on the left side of the dress the thinner lines that made up a larger circle almost appeared horizontal which was replicated at the base of the index finger. Half circles on the index and middle fingers represent the large circles within the pattern.

All of these designs were created with two nail art brushes: one small brush and one very thin brush to touch up any wobbly lines and even out spaces between the thinner lines. Allow all designs to dry before applying a layer of top coat so that your design lasts for the next few days.
