Celine Dion Songs That Remind Us Of Her Love For Rene Angelil

The couple was married for just over 21 years.

It was the kind of love story that sounds unlikely, but turned into a lifetime for Celine Dion and René Angélil.

The pair met when the singer was just 12, after her brother sent a demo tape to Angélil, then 38, in 1980. The manager was well-known in Quebec for his own pop group from the '60s, Les Baronnets, as well as his work with stars René Simard and Ginette Reno.

According to all reports, he was immediately entranced by Dion's voice, and reportedly remortgaged his home in order to produce her album, "La voix du bon Dieu" in 1981. From there he set out to make her a global star, winning international competitions and become a household name.

But both insist nothing happened between them until she was much older.

“So maybe at 17, 18 years old, my feelings started to change for him. I kind of saw him differently," Dion told Access Hollywood in 2013.

The couple married in 1994, when Dion was 26 and Angélil 52.

The pair even sang together at times, including this moment:

For a tribute to her husband upon her return to Las Vegas in September, 2015, Dion chose "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face."

While it wasn't one of her songs, it's obvious so many of them relied on his love. As she told reporters before her return to the stage, "The meaning of the songs have a new meaning now. I sung them, but now I mean it. To me they'll be different songs. To you, maybe not."

Here's a look at some of Celine Dion's songs that speak of her great capacity for love that was clearly evident in the way she and René gazed at each other:

"The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (originally made famous by Roberta Flack)

"It's All Coming Back To Me Now"

"Love Can Move Mountains"

"I Surrender"

"Have You Ever Been In Love"

"I Knew I Loved You"

"Didn't Know Love"

"Another Year Has Gone By"

"All By Myself"

"Alone" (originally made famous by Heart)

"Because You Loved Me"
