Hari Nef Makes Milan Fashion Week Debut At Gucci Menswear Show

YES!

Fashion is celebrating trans visibility and gender equality once again, and we have an on-the-rise actress to thank for it this time.

"Transparent" star, Hari Nef, made her Milan Fashion Show debut on Sunday walking in Gucci's fall 2016 menswear show and proving just how cool she is.

Modelling a bold, all-red, ready-to-wear look, featuring a wool cape and straight-leg trousers, Nef, who had previously walked on runways in New York City, sported the classic '70s Gucci style with its boyhood aesthetic. Accessorized in oversized glasses and statement rings, the model's theatrical height-defying hat made her a standout in the show.

"I think [Gucci's creative director, Alessandro Michele] works from his heart," said Nef backstage. "It's an authentic vision and I'm so happy to be a part of it...I’ve never walked in Europe and I’ve never walked in a show this big."

The 22-year-old transgender trailblazer, who starred in & Other Stories' game-changing all-transgender campaign last year, also took over Gucci's Snapchat for 24 hours showing off her goofy and creative side.

As noted by Dazed, Nef's aligning with Gucci comes as no surprise, as Michele's "young, bohemian and gender-fluid" vision for the Italian brand is everything the young Tumblr star-turned-actress embodies.

"I started out as friends with Alessandro – I met him while I was in LA," Nef tells Dazed. "I had requested a dress to wear for the 'Transparent' premiere and then he requested dinner with me at Chateau Marmont, and we just hit it off. He’s a great guy and he sees people, he sees characters...he doesn’t really see a lot of the labels. To work with the team has been a joy. I can genuinely say it’s been amazing."

Killin' it, Hari!
