'Everybody Dance Now' Dance Movie Mashup Is Nostalgia At Its Best

Gonna make you sweat.

Here's the truth: you say the words "dance movie mashup" to us, and it's only a matter of seconds before we click that link wide open.

This particular selection, created by video editor Robert Jones, is set to C+C Music Factory's "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)" and does a fantastic job of bringing up movies you haven't thought of in years (hello, "Howard the Duck"). The video also adds in scenes from films you might not traditionally consider "dance" movies (like "The 40-Year-Old Virgin") and of course, keeps some old favourites around just because they're awesome ("Footloose," forever).

Plus, there are some great roles that could be included in a mix like this a million times that we're happy to keep watching over and over.

Basically, seeing an actor dance guarantees an instant love for them — and still manages to charm you, no matter what they've done in the intervening years since the movie came out:

For example, let's all remember John Travolta in his heyday:

Or Steve Martin in "Little Shop of Horrors":

Actually, Steve Martin has never made a wrong move in his life, we just wanted to honour that moment with its own gif.

So sit back, enjoy the memories, and let the music take control.

(And if you love these kinds of mash-ups, Jones has plenty more, including "Party Movie Dancing" and "We Can Neutron Dance.")
