DIY Beauty: How To Clean Your Makeup Brushes Using Only Two Ingredients

Luckily, you can make the cleaner yourself with only two ingredients.

When was the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes?

You're thinking long and hard, aren't you?

If your answer is months or even years, take a seat. Because we need to talk.

You might be thinking, "Why do I need to clean my makeup brush anyway?" Well friends, it's simple: old makeup, oil, dirt, dead skin and all other types of disgusting bacteria are living in that thing (pretty gross, right?) And who has to suffer the consequences? Your skin, which is bound to breakout from unwanted substances repeatedly being applied to it.

See, for many, cleaning makeup brushes isn't a part of the usual beauty routine. Yes, we use our beloved brushes for foundation, bronzer, blush and eyeshadows nearly everyday, but we fail miserably when it comes to caring for this beloved beauty tool. How can we continuously stroke our faces with a brush that is hiding away so many terrors?

To put an end to this oh-so-bad beauty faux pas, we created a DIY video to show you how exactly to clean a makeup brush. And the best part? You probably won't have to spend any dolla dolla bills in the process because there are only two-ingredients in this recipe, and you most likely all ready own both of them.

So grab that grimy makeup brush of yours, and check out the step-by-step guide above!
