Ryan Reynolds Owns Up To Smuggling Canadian Apple Pie Into U.S.

Ryan Reynolds is more than happy to plug his hometown of Vancouver whenever he gets the chance.

But it takes a brave patriot to not only declare his city's apple pie superior to anything he can find in the U.S., but to then take things one step further by trying to smuggle the Canadian goods over the border.

Still, that's exactly what Reynolds did for his wife, "foodie" and actress Blake Lively.

The actor, who was back in his hometown filming "Deadpool" last spring, explained the mission in an interview on the Graham Norton Show in January. (Watch the clip above at the 2:42 mark.)

Reynolds frustratingly doesn't mention where this precious pie came from, so we're left to wonder if it was The Pie Shoppe, Savary Island Pie Company, Tartine (which has our vote for its salted caramel apple option,) Aphrodite's Organic Café & Pie Shop, or some secret hole-in-the-wall spot.

Either way, we're happy to hear the border guard let Reynolds through with his illegal wares, because as we all know, there's just no comparing apples to apples.
