Celebrate Super Bowl 50 With This Nail Art Design

Make sure your nails are Super Bowl ready, too.

Whether you are a huge football fan or just there for the halftime show and snacks, Super Bowl is quickly approaching!

This year is the 50th Super Bowl and they will be pulling out all the stops to make it a fantastic event. So while you are nibbling on snacks and cheering for your favourite team, make sure your nails are just as Super Bowl ready.

This design is great for someone who isn't a fan of either the Carolina Panthers or Denver Broncos, but still wants to join in the festivities.

To start off, paint one finger a green shade, one a brown colour and two nails white.

For the green shade, mix a little bit of white into that same polish and dab the lighter colour over the nail to give it a bit more texture. Once that is dry, take a nail art brush and white polish and create a vertical line down the centre of the nail. Make a few tick marks on either side of the vertical line at the tip of the nail. Pick a yard line and then paint that number on either side of the vertical line. For this particular year, stay away from choosing 50 as that will also appear on another nail.

For the brown nail, once you have applied two coats, create a smaller, white vertical line in the middle of the nail. Then create small horizontal lines down the vertical line to create the look of the laces on the football. Allow that to dry and then apply a coat of fast drying top coat. Once the top coat is almost dry, take a small dotting tool or toothpick and poke little holes all around. This will give the football a textured look.

For the first white nail, take a nail art brush and a silver polish to create the Lombardi Trophy. Start with a triangle shape as the base, and then a football shape on top. Outline the design with black polish and a nail art brush, and create the look of laces on the football.

For the second white nail, take the same green as the index finger and, with a nail art brush, create the number 50. You can outline the number in black if you like. This does help to balance out the look of the numbers.

Once you have let your designs dry for about 10 minutes, apply top coat on the three nails other than the football nail.

Polishes Used: Sinful Colors Snow Me White, OPI I Drive a SuperNova, Revlon High Stakes, China Glaze Community, and Wet n Wild Black Creme.
