Adriana Lima, Karlie Kloss And More Get The Superhero Treatment For Garage Magazine

"It's important that young girls have fierce and strong role models to look up to and that's what this project is really about."

Sugar, spice and everything nice. These were the ingredients chosen to create the perfect badass supermodel turned superhero.

For their spring/summer issue, Garage Magazine has teamed up with Marvel Comics to created five special-edition (and totally badass) covers with five models posing as different iconic superheroes.

Featuring Adriana Lima as She-Hulk, Karlie Kloss as the Black Widow, Candice Swanepoel as Spider Gwen, Lexi Boiling as Captain Marvel, and Cuba Tornado Scott as Thor, the glossy takes the female superhero to new heights with the comic book-style issue.

The Patrick Demarchelier-photographed covers are meant to focus "on the inclusiveness and democracy within the contemporary art world," according to Garage. A press release by the magazine states they purposefully avoided sexualizing the superheroes by not putting any of the models in "a cleavage enhancing bodysuit."

"It's important that young girls have fierce and strong role models to look up to and that's what this project is really about," says Karlie Kloss in a release, who sports a blunt auburn boob for the editorial. "These role models come in many forms, from fictional Super Heroes to incredible businesswomen to strong female athletes."

Adriana Lima, who flaunts a strong brow and a no-makeup makeup look by Pat McGrath, adds, "I think it’s very important that children, young girls specifically, are exposed to strong and diverse female role models in art, literature, entertainment and of course, real life."

Preach it, girls!

The special superhero issue hits newsstands Feb. 11th.
