Nail Art Inspired By Alicia Vikander's Louis Vuitton Oscars Dress

This gown served as perfect inspiration for nail art.

The biggest night of award season finally arrived Sunday night to highlight Hollywood's biggest stars. And from the complete dominance of "Mad Max" to the amazing performance by Toronto's The Weeknd, the 2016 Oscars did not disappoint.

Of course, the the red carpet fashion did not disappoint either. We saw a great mix of colours and textures that had us wondering what you would see next. One of the highlights of the carpet was Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander's Louis Vuitton gown.

This gown served as great inspiration for nail art with the silver sequin embellishments on the buttery yellow fabric. This design is also relatively easy to accomplish. All you need is a nail art brush and shades of silver polish, along with the yellow polish as the base.

Start by applying two coats of the yellow polish and allow to dry. To recreate the silver sequin embellishments, you'll need two to three shades of silver polish. Start with the lightest colour, as this is the main colour of the sequins, and take the polish on a nail art brush and create small, elongated dots. Some of the sequins are arranged in two rows, some feature curved single lines, and others have curved details at the end.

Once you have created the majority of the sequin pattern with the lightest silver, take the darker shade (or middle shade if using three) and add more elongated dots over the light silver to make it look like a shadow. You can add the darkest shade as well to deepen the look of the shadows. Continue this until you are happy with the design.

Allow your design to dry for 10 minutes, and then apply a top coat so your nail art lasts.

Polishes Used: CND Vinylux Honey Darlin', OPI Center of the You-niverse, OPI No More Mr. Night Sky, and OPI I Drive a Supernova.
