Common Household Items You're Not Replacing Enough

All that dead skin. Yum.

Most of us only throw things out when it's worn out or damaged, but it seems like we may be ignoring a whole group of germ-y items.

In the video above by Buzz60, the site goes through common household items most people don't replace. From dead skin-filled pillows (gross) to dirty kitchen sponges to even toothbrushes, the video also tells us how long you should hold on to each item.

But before you toss those pillows into your laundry machine, make sure you check the tags to see if it can be washed at home to begin with. Washing your pillows will help you get rid of mold, dust mites and bacteria.

And while the video states you should replace your bra every year, if you're not washing it on the regular, look out for signs of damage before tossing it in the trash. If your bras are too small, worn out or don't have the same shape, that's a better indication for getting a new one, Good Housekeeping reports.

Let us know, which items do you always hang on to?
