What Happens When You Light 7,000 Matches At Once

What did I just watch?

Sometimes the Internet blesses us with content we can't explain, and this week, a 45-minute (yes, you read that right), real-time video of burning matches has caught our attention.

The video, uploaded by YouTube user HTD, has been able to captivate audiences by simply lighting a large number of matches at once.

On a video posted over the weekend, the YouTube user's attempt to burn 7,000 matches at once has been called everything from "wow it's so relaxing," to "what's the purpose of doing this?"

And while we're not sure what to think (or have the time to watch 45 minutes of burning matches), it is pretty cool to see the chain reaction. And if you skip over to the 44-minute mark, you're left with a big pile of burnt black sticks.

HTD also posted this other video on the same day which is actually a compilation video of other large amounts of matches being burnt at the same time. Yup.

Watch the full video above.
