Canadian Beauty Vlogger Farah Dhukai Shows How Garlic Easily Gets Rid Of Pimples

Have acne? Then you might want to pay attention to this hack.

We've seen Instagram gurus do some wild things in the name of beauty. You know, like rubbing onions on their eyebrows to get them thicker (ew.)

But Farah Dhukai of Concord, Ont. is taking things to the next level with her latest culinary beauty hack. In a new video posted to her Instagram page, Dhukai reveals how a clove of garlic can help get rid of that terrible, horrible, no good, very bad pimple.

The video shows Dhukai, who has more than 510,000 followers on Instagram, slightly cutting a garlic clove (to extract the juice) and then rubbing it on her problem area. She notes that the garlic helps "flatten" the pimple or whitehead, and gets rid of it overnight (or even instantly!)

And guys, it seems like it works!

"If you have a larger pimple beneath the surface, rub the garlic on it and leave it on over night. You'll wake up with it GONE!" Dhukai writes.

So why is garlic used to treat acne? Garlic has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and antiseptic properties that help to prevent clogged pores and inflammation.

Warning: if you have sensitive skin, this experiment might not be for you, as it can cause a burning sensation.

So if the odour isn't a deal-breaker, then are you ready to introduce garlic into your everyday beauty kit? If your answer is no, don't worry, there are other ways to treat problematic skin without it.
