As for his name, the couple opted for something pretty spectacular: Odin Reign Carter.
Odin is a name from Norse mythology. According to Behind the Name, Odin was “the highest of the gods, presiding over art, war, wisdom and death.”
Earlier this month, Carter revealed that he and his wife had chosen a powerful name for their son. “It's a very strong name,” the 36-year-old told ET. “We can't say the name yet. I've been instructed by my wife to keep it under wraps, but we have a name.”
The couple certainly chose a strong name by pairing Odin with Hollywood favourite Reign. Regal baby names have been quite popular among celebrities since 2014, with famous figures like Kourtney Kardashian naming her son Reign and Chris Brown naming his daughter Royalty.
Odin’s birth comes just weeks after the Carters threw a “Game of Thrones”-inspired baby shower in California. Breaking away from tradition, the shower was for both the mom- and dad-to-be.
New mom Kitt Carter told People: “He just got off a tour, so I really wanted him to enjoy this next thing, which is to become a dad, and make it about him, too, and shower him with love and surprises.”
Could these two be any cuter?
Carter proposed to his wife in 2013. Two years later, the couple tied the knot in Santa Barbara, California, surrounded by close family and friends, including bandmates A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough and Brian Littrell.
Carter is the youngest of the Backstreet Boys and the last to become a father. A.J. McLean, 38, has a daughter named Ava; Brian Littrell, 41, has a son named Baylee; Howie Dorough, 42, has two sons, James and Holden; and Kevin Richardson, 44, has two sons, Mason and Maxwell.
