Justin Bieber Didn't Do Himself Any Favours With Prince Tribute Reaction

"Don't flatter yourself, @justinbieber.," wrote one Instagram user.

Justin Bieber just couldn't handle this homage to Prince.

After the music legend was found dead at his home Thursday, fans took over social media with their tributes.

Former California Breed guitarist Andrew Watt shared a very personal reaction on Instagram, calling Prince "the last of the greatest living performers."

Bieber had to chime in.

"Well not the last greatest living performer," the singer commented on Watt's post.

While it's hard to know whether Bieber was jealous or just taking issue with Watt's use of hyperbole, other users did not react well.

"You already can't keep up with the demand of your fans & you're not even 25. Prince was still touring at 57. One more time, at 57 you will be washed up. Not touring, not making sustainable music that people can relate to. Humble yourself," one person wrote.

"Don't flatter yourself, @justinbieber.," wrote another.

The "What Do You Mean" singer is trying to rehabilitate his public image, but this probably won't help.
