CALGARY — Police in Calgary have charged a woman in the death of her adult daughter who was developmentally disabled and had chronic medical issues.
Officers were called to a home in the city's southwest on Tuesday about a woman in medical distress.
Melissa Couture, who was 38, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The homicide unit was put on the case after a medical investigator deemed the death to be suspicious.
Patricia Couture, who is 68, is charged with failure to provide the necessaries of life.
She is to appear in court on Thursday.
