Prince's Former Spanish Villa Just Can't Sell

How can you leave it standing?

Luxury buyers seem perfectly happy to leave Prince's former villa standing on the real estate market.

The late artist once owned a stunning home in the hills of El Paraiso, just outside Marbella, Spain.

But he sold it in 2006; and now the current owner has been trying to offload it for two years, according to Bloomberg.

It's now being offered at just under C$7.5 million.

Engel and Volkers is marketing the property as a "palatial, charming" home that is opulent from floor to ceiling.

Upon entering the house, you see an "enormous colonial-style double staircase with white marble balustrades" leading down into an entrance hall with a chandelier hanging overhead.

There are panoramic windows in the living room, breakfast room and dining area. Three upstairs bedrooms have marble bathrooms and a private terrace area with views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Prince bought the property in 1998 as a gift to his then-wife Mayte Garcia, before it was sold eight years later.

Engel and Volkers said the home served as an "inspiring scenario for many of his beautiful songs."

Outside features include a 6,000 square meters of gardens, as well as a heated pool and a tennis court.

But this isn't the only place that a property formerly owned by Prince has hit the market.

Prince's former home on Toronto's Bridle Path is also for sale at $12.79 million.
